A frenzy of experience, youth, promise and sheer ability has been part of Plainmoor’s revolving door this transfer season, as Torquay United manager Chris Hargreaves braces his side for the incredibly tough Skrill Premier season that lays ahead.

Perhaps the hardest transfer of all as a Gulls fan was Lee Mansell setting his sights on Bristol Rovers, the United legend held 368 appearances and what he may of lacked in pace and ability, he made up for in passion and desire.

Despite this, the show must go on and with promising signing like ex-argyle midfielder Luke Young the season ahead looks bright. Jordan Seabright and the impressive pace of Louis Briscoe have been the other additions as a squad of youth and competition grows.

Despite the whirlwind of a busy month for United, this team is starting to look like the Gulls again. Its shaping to be a team- not 11 individuals.

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish Chris Hargeaves and the boys best of luck this season and also that I’ll be in Gateshead come the 9th August!

COYY.
