The fire service received several calls to a fire at a property on Chantry Hill, Slapton, near Kingsbridge just after 9.15am this morning .
1 fire engine from Dartmouth, 1 from Salcombe and 1 from Modbury were mobilised to the incident.
Whilst en route to the incident, crews confirmed a large amount of smoke could be seen and requested a 4th pump be mobilised, this was sent on from Totnes, along with the incident command unit and a support pump from Buckfastleigh.
On arrival, crews confirmed the detached property to be well alight, crews got to work with 2 breathing apparatus wearers, 2 hose reel jets, 1 safety jet and a thermal imaging camera.
All persons were accounted for.
At 10:11 am, the roof of the premise collapsed, crews were using 1 compressed air foam jet, 1 safety jet, 1 hose reel jet and 2 BA wearers.
Crews have requested a building control officer to attend this incident.
