Shaldon Wildlife Trust celebrates bronze win at the Devon Tourism Awards

Shaldon Wildlife Trust is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Bronze Award for Small Visitor Attraction at the prestigious Devon Tourism Awards. This recognition highlights the Trust’s continued commitment to conservation excellence, exceptional visitor experiences, and its long-standing mission to protect some of the world’s most endangered species.

Located in village of Shaldon, the Wildlife Trust is renowned for its intimate setting, immersive encounters, and globally significant conservation work. The Bronze award celebrates not only the dedication of the Trust’s team and volunteers but also the strong support from the local community and visitors who value its unique contribution to Devon’s tourism landscape.

“We are absolutely delighted to have received the Bronze Award in the Small Visitor Attraction category,” said Zak Showell, Director. “This achievement reflects the passion, hard work, and innovation shown by our entire team. As a small charity, every member of staff and volunteer plays a vital role in helping us deliver an inspiring and educational experience for our guests while advancing important conservation initiatives. Its even better considering this was the first time we’d ever entered the Devon Tourism awards!”

Over the past year, Shaldon Wildlife Trust has continued to expand its educational programmes, improve animal habitats, and enhance visitor facilities. The Trust’s focus on rare and endangered species, including its involvement in international breeding programmes, makes it a standout attraction with a meaningful purpose.

The Devon Tourism Awards celebrate outstanding achievements in the region’s visitor economy and shine a light on organisations that go above and beyond to deliver exceptional experiences. This year’s competition saw strong entries from across the county, making Shaldon Wildlife Trust’s Bronze win a significant accomplishment.
