Sibelco has continued its long-running support for Buckland Athletic Football Club with its annual delivery of specialist drainage sand to help maintain the club’s playing surface ahead of the new season.
The support, which has now continued for around 25 years, forms part of Sibelco’s wider commitment to supporting community organisations, sports clubs and local initiatives across South Devon.
The top-dressing sand is used as part of the club’s ongoing pitch maintenance programme, helping to improve drainage and playing conditions for the hundreds of players who use the facilities each year, from youth football through to the club’s senior teams.
Buckland Athletic, based in Newton Abbot, plays an important role in the local sporting community, providing opportunities for players of all ages and serving as a hub for grassroots football.
Sibelco’s support for the club reflects the company’s long-term approach to investing in the community in the areas around its South Devon operations.
Each year, Sibelco supports dozens of local organisations and good causes, including junior and adult sports clubs, schools, environmental charities, arts and community projects, local events and fundraising initiatives. Alongside financial donations, the company also provides practical assistance and support in kind to a wide range of community organisations.
