Suspected arson attack in town car park

Fire engine devon and Somerset

The fire service was called to a vehicle fire in Newton Abbot earlier this morning.

One fire engine was mobilised to the incident on Decoy Road at 5.20am.

On arrival, crews confirmed one vehicle in car park well alight.

Crews used 2 breathing apparatus sets and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

The police also attended the incident at the request of the fire service as arson was suspected.
