Tally Taster
The Tally Ho Inn of Littlehempston, Totnes.

The Tally Ho Inn of Littlehempston is holding a Tally Taster this weekend, August 2nd – 3rd. The mini beer festival will feature live music throughout the weekend and a BBQ, as well offering a great selection of local beer, cider and fruit wine. On the Sunday there will also be roast dinners available and a raffle. Vegetarian options will also be available on both days. The event will run from 12pm – late on both the Saturday and Sunday. There is a large free car park behind the pub so parking should hopefully not be an issue this weekend.

The Tally Ho Inn is South Devon’s first community-owned pub. Local supporters purchased the pub after hearing it had been put up for sale, and that there was an intent of changing the historical building to that of a private residence. Supporters were keen to keep their well-loved “Tally” as the traditional, warm and friendly pub at the heart of the village that it was known to be. As a result, the Tally Ho was successfully saved in order for it to remain an important part of the local community. The Tally Ho Inn is a grade 2 listed building while the picturesque church next door is grade 1 listed.

The pub is now run by landlady Hollie Brockwell and chef Chris Webley. They are looking to hear from anyone who has a memory of The Tally Ho Inn, such as an engagement or first drink. They are collecting “Tales of the Tally”, so if you have a special memory to share, then let them know!

You can find out more information about the Tally Ho Inn and its Tally Taster on their website, Facebook page or on Twitter. Let’s hope the weather brightens up to ensure that the weekend goes well!
