Torquay Man named after car park death

A man who fell from the top of a car park in Torquay has been named.

Alex James Goddard, 27 who lived in Shiphay died on Wednesday after falling from the 9th Storey of Lower Union car park in Torquay.

Emergency services were called to the scene and witnesses suggest that a restaurant worker gave CPR until their arrival but unfortunately he was pronounced dead on arrival to the hospital.

The area around the car park was closed off whilst police investigated.

There are no suspicious circumstances.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
