A group of well-known South Devon musicians are coming together on 25th March 2026 at the Barrel House Ballroom in Totnes for a special fundraising concert in memory of much-loved local singer Sue Bradshaw. The aim of the event, titled “Friends in Harmony”, is simple: to have fun, give the audience a great night out, and raise money for Rowcroft Hospice.

Sue Bradshaw was a familiar and much-loved presence in the Totnes music scene, regularly appearing at open mic nights and performing with accordionist Martyn Warren. Known for her beautiful voice and vibrant personality, Sue died of pancreatic cancer in 2023 and received care from Rowcroft Hospice during her final months.

Martyn Warren commented: “Sue was such a wonderful personality: kind, funny and full of life. She had nothing but praise for the care she received from the NHS and from Rowcroft during her final months. We wanted to create an evening of music that Sue would have loved while raising money for such a vital local service,” he said.

The evening will feature three popular South Devon acts: ‘Ain’t Misbehavin’, bringing lively swing from the 1930s and 40s; ‘Parting Gesture’, a seven-person a cappella group known for rich harmonies and inventive arrangements, and ‘Rhythm & Shoes’ whose blend of sparkling vocal harmonies and rhythm guitar has earned them a strong regional following.

Special guests include Totnes singer-songwriter Mae Karthauser, who has released several albums and launched her 2023 album ‘August’ with a sold-out concert at Dartington’s Great Hall, a concert Sue attended shortly before her passing.

Also appearing will be Tracie Gillies, Events & Programming Director at the Barrel House Ballroom, making her public singing debut as a tribute to Sue. Organisers have expressed huge thanks to Tracie and the Barrel House Ballroom for generously supporting the event and helping with ticketing, promotion and event management.

All proceeds from the evening will go to Rowcroft Hospice, which supports adults across South Devon living with life-limiting illnesses. Tickets are available from:
