Venture Outdoor Kindergarten expands with new site

Venture Outdoor Kindergarten, a pioneering pre-school offering a nature-based learning experience, is set to expand with the opening of a new site on 9th September. The new site will be based on the Dartington Estate and the lucky preschoolers who attend will have the entirety of the estate in which to explore and learn.

Known for its unique approach to early childhood education, Venture Outdoor Kindergarten immerses children in the natural world, utilising the woods, beaches, and fields of Devon as their classroom. With existing sites in Hope Cove and at Kitley Farm, Yealmpton, the kindergarten is thrilled to introduce its third location, a testament to the growing demand for alternative, outdoor-focused education. This new site, carefully chosen for its lush surroundings and accessibility, will provide even more families in South Hams with the opportunity to experience this innovative approach to early years education.

“We’re incredibly excited to open our new site, Venture Dartington,” said a spokesperson for Venture Outdoor Kindergarten. “Our mission has always been to reconnect children with nature, fostering their development through hands-on, outdoor experiences. We’ve seen such positive outcomes from our current sites, and we’re eager to extend this opportunity to more families.”

The kindergarten’s curriculum is designed to nurture children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development in a natural setting. Activities include everything from exploring local flora and fauna to storytelling by the beach, providing a rich, varied environment that encourages curiosity and learning in a way that indoor settings simply cannot replicate.

In response to increased interest from local parents, Venture Outdoor Kindergarten has announced that there are still places available at all of their sites, including the newly opened location. Parents looking for a fresh, adventurous start to their child’s education are encouraged to enquire soon, as places are expected to fill quickly.

Government Early Years Funding is accepted at all 3 Venture settings, meaning children can experience these Ofsted Outstanding preschool settings entirely for free.
