Police attended the incident inbetween the Linhay and Pear Tree junctions on the A38 and requested the fire service to attend.

Fire engines from Buckfastleigh and Ashburton were mobilised to the incident.

The specialist rescue team from Camels Head, Plymouth also attended.

Fire crews removed the lady from the cliff using a ladder.

Fire crews rendered first aid and left the lady in the care of the Police and Ambulance.
