Young motorcyclist dies following collision

A 20 year old man from the Plymouth area died at the weekend following a collision on 7th June.

The 20 year old from Plymouth was  riding an Aprilia 125cc motorcycle from Modbury going towards Aveton Gifford.  It is understood the young man was riding with two other friends.

The incident took place at around 4.53pm, the motorcycle slid along the road and into the roundabout.

The rider was taken by air ambulance to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth for treatment but later died from his injuries on Saturday, June 14.  His family have been informed.

A careful examination of the incident took place and officers from the serious collision investigation unit are now carrying out a full investigation.  If anyone witnessed this incident please contact them on 101 quoting log number 647 of 7 June 2014.
