A brand-new music festival is coming to Torquay this summer, and it’s doing things differently.
On Saturday 18th July 2026, Tor VYBZ will transform The Banjo at Princess Gardens into a celebration of young talent, creativity and community, bringing together around 27 emerging artists from across Torbay and South Devon for a full day of live music—all with free entry.
But Tor VYBZ is about much more than the performances.
Created with the belief that Torquay has always had incredible talent but hasn’t always had enough opportunities to showcase it, the festival has been designed as a platform where young people don’t just perform—they help create the event itself.
From sound engineering and stage management to production and event operations, local young people are gaining hands-on experience in the live events industry, developing skills that can open doors to future careers in music and the creative sector.
Organisers say the aim is to build something that leaves a lasting legacy for Torbay’s creative community, creating genuine pathways into the industry while giving local artists the chance to perform in front of a home audience.
A showcase of local talent
Festival-goers can expect an eclectic line-up featuring around 27 up-and-coming acts spanning multiple genres throughout the day.
Headlining the festival is Phibes, with performances also coming from OH Five, J-Reflection, Gyendi, Icely, Lewis Jackson, Starnight, Hope Jones, Steamy Eyes, DJ Tommo, Inaudify, Hyuzie x Ferg, Abi Moran, and many more emerging artists from the local music scene.
The event highlights the depth of musical talent being developed across Torbay and South Devon and provides a rare opportunity for so many local performers to share one stage.
Free, inclusive and for the whole community
With free admission and all ages welcome, Tor VYBZ is designed to bring the community together in one of Torquay’s most iconic waterfront locations.
