Man dies following collision in Torquay

Update: The man’s next of kin has now been informed.

A man has died following a collision in Torquay this morning, Thursday 17th May.

The collision involving a car and a motorcycle happened on St Marychurch Road around 7.20am

The rider of the motorbike, a man in his 30s, died as a result of the collision.

Police say that efforts are underway to locate and inform his next of kin and formal identification is yet to take place.

The driver of the BMW was uninjured.

Road closures were put in place at the scene and across Great Hill Road and St Marychurch Road back to Newton Abbot; some road closures remain in the area.
