Rowcroft has announced registration for its second colour-crazy event of the summer, The Colour Rush Paignton, will open on Wednesday 20th April.
Dubbed South Devon’s brightest 5k, The Colour Rush Paignton invites people to complete a 5k route along Preston and Paignton Beaches while being showered, caked and covered in brightly coloured powder paint.
The event will take place on Saturday 17th September.
Events Manager at Rowcroft Hospice, Daniel Robson, explained: “We are thrilled to announce that registration will soon be open for The Colour Rush Paignton, the home of Rowcroft’s colour craziness!”
Earlier this year Rowcroft announced it would be holding its first ever Colour Rush in Teignmouth on Saturday 7 May.
Places have been selling quickly for The Colour Rush Teignmouth since registration opened in March, with over half of the places filled.
Organisers are now urging those who’d like to take part in its Paignton event to sign up as soon as possible from Wednesday 20th April, to guarantee their place in Paignton’s most colourful event of the summer.
Daniel added: “The Colour Rush Paignton promises to be an epic day; participants get the chance to turn themselves, their friends and local beach rainbow-coloured while listening to a summer soundtrack from The Breeze and enjoying entertainment and refreshments organised by the hospice.”
Entry to The Colour Rush costs £25, but We Are South Devon readers will be able to sign up for the reduced price of £20 when registering online using code ORANGE16 before Tuesday 31 May.
Daniel said: “The fee to enter The Colour Rush covers the cost of running the event, so we then ask that participants raise as much in sponsorship as possible.”
Sue Harvey, Rowcroft’s Inpatient Unit Manager, explained: “Every pound you get sponsored for being covered in paint at The Colour Rush will help people and families in your community who are living with life-limiting illnesses to make the most of the time they have together, and bring a smile to the faces of all of us at the hospice!”
