Man released on bail following Newton Abbot baby death

A man has been released on bail whilst police continue to make enquiries into the death of a baby in Newton Abbot.

Police were called to Brownhills Road by ambulance crews just after 10.30am on Wednesday, 15th June, informing them of the death.

Police have been investigating the death of the baby, with both police and scenes of crimes officers attending the property.

The 27 year old man has now been released on police bail until early August while police make further enquiries.

The circumstances of the child’s death continue to be investigated.

Police state the circumstances are being viewed as unexplained rather than suspicious.
