Rowcroft lowers Colour Rush age restriction

Registration for The Colour Rush Paignton is now open to children over eight-years-old.

Rowcroft Hospice has announced it has lowered its age restriction for the popular event from 13-years-old to eight-years-old in order to enable more local families to take part.

Events Manager at Rowcroft Hospice, Daniel Robson, explained: “Following feedback from the local community we were keen to look into whether it would be possible to lower our age restrictions and are delighted to announce that we’ve been able to in time for The Colour Rush Paignton in September.

He added: “Children between eight and 12-years-old will now be able to sign up for £15 per person, but must be accompanied by a participating adult.”

Taking place on Saturday 17th September, The Colour Rush Paignton invites people to complete a 5k route along Preston and Paignton Beaches while being showered, caked and covered in brightly coloured powder paint.

Following completion of the 5k route, participants are invited to take part in Rowcroft’s legendary mass paint throw, which with a lot of people and a lot of bags of paint is guaranteed to be big, bright and colour-crazy.

Daniel added: “The Colour Rush is a fun, colourful, vibrant event that is all about making amazing memories with family, friends, colleagues and even people you’ve never met before!

“We’re really excited about being able to make some very memorable moments happen for local children and also introduce them to Rowcroft and what a place of life, colour and amazing moments it is.”

Rowcroft has a full day of fun planned for the event, with sounds of the summer being pumped out all day by South Devon’s own The Breeze radio station and food, refreshments and entertainment for the whole family in the Event Village.

All those who sign up to take part in The Colour Rush are also asked to raise as much in sponsorship as possible for completing the brightest 5k of their lives.

Events Manager at Rowcroft Hospice, Daniel Robson, explained: “Over the last four years The Colour Rush has raised an incredible amount of money, helping to make every day the best day possible for thousands of people and families living with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon.

“The fee to enter The Colour Rush covers the cost of running the event, so every pound raised in sponsorship will make a huge difference to Rowcroft, our patients and their friends and families.”

Children aged eight to 12-years-old can sign up for £15 per person, aged 13 to 15-years-old for £20 per person and over 16-years-old for £25 per person.

Live life in full colour and guarantee your place in South Devon’s brightest 5k today by signing up for The Colour Rush Paignton at www.thecolourrush.co.uk.
