Do you want to make a lasting impact on your local community by providing or improving local facilities? If so, there are funding opportunities available now from South Hams District Council.
The Council is calling all Town and Parish Councils, together with local voluntary or community groups, to apply for the Community Re-investment Projects Fund (CRPF). This annual fund is available to any communal project involved in providing, or improving, facilities such as community buildings, gardens, sports facilities or play areas.
Previous grants awarded have included the improving of creative play opportunities within a young children’s play park and also the installation of a solar power system to reduce energy bills on a community building. Gardens have also had a makeover, with improvement of paving, shrub beds and benches in a community garden and the improvement of rural community access of a pathway alongside a river.
South Hams District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Customer First, Cllr Hilary Bastone, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for community groups to get ahead with their projects and to have a real impact in their area. We are eager to support our local groups and urge them to apply before the closing date of 7 January 2017.”
If your town or parish is within the South Hams Local Planning Authority and has had a significant development started, or completed, since 1 April 2009 which has impacted your area, you may be eligible for a grant.
