Police warning over fake Facebook account used to ask children for images

Police in Kingsbridge have warned the public about a fake Facebook account that has been set up and used to add South Hams school pupils and then ask them to send images of themselves.

Police are investigating the Facebook account.

A spokesperson for Kingsbridge Police said on Facebook:
“Please do not accept friend requests from people you don’t know. Parents are advised to speak to their children about this issue and highlight the dangers of sending images and personal information.

“If you are worried about this or worried about a friend, please contact PC GERRARD at Kingsbridge by calling 101 or email 16049@dc.police.uk,”
