A fund has been set up to help pay for the funeral of a Paul Maasz who had worked as a lollipop man at Cockington Primary school in Torquay for over 20 years.

A spokesperson for Cockington Primary school posted on their Facebook page:
“Paul served the school faithfully for over 25 years and was a friend to generations of children and families at Cockington Primary.

“Our thoughts go out to his family at this time,”

The fund, which was set up yesterday, has raised £397 of it’s £2000 goal.

The creator of the page said:
“As you may all know by now that Paul Maasz has sadly passed away. Paul was mostly known as the lollipop man at cockington primary school for 25 years and also as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was loved by soo many people and he deserves the best send off ever, so I ask you all for any donations to go towards the funeral costs, this would be kindly appreciated.”
