4,000 South West Businesses to receive growth support

TDA will deliver a new business support programme which has been launched, offering a suite of business support services to small and medium size businesses (SMEs) in Devon, Plymouth, Somerset and Torbay.

The Growth Support Programme will see more than 4,000 businesses supported over three years across the Heart of the South West.

The scheme provides free access to one-to-one business support, events and workshops. Businesses just need to register online to trigger an initial face to face meeting.

Following this initial meeting, some businesses will then have the opportunity to receive further support including marketing, innovation, HR, finance and digital.

The initiative is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) with match funding provided by all local authorities in the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership (HotSW LEP) area and two of the delivery partners, including TDA.

Carl Wyard, Economy and Enterprise Manager at TDA, said: “We are excited to deliver this new programme within the South West to help businesses realise growth opportunities. This links into the national strategy, helping improve businesses productivity and potential. TDA is proud of its record in delivering business support and is looking forward to supporting more businesses over the next three years.”

The programme is available to all SMEs except those involved in the sectors of fisheries and aquaculture, primary production, processing and marketing of agricultural products, coal or steel, shipbuilding, synthetic fibres, schools/school age educational establishments, banking, and insurance companies.

To access support, businesses can register online at www.heartofswgrowthhub.co.uk/gsp-apply/
