The youngest member of our team had more than the usual trim when we visited the hairdressers today, Tuesday 12th February.
Late last night, Elise, 6, announced that she would like her long locks cut to donate to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which makes real hair wigs for children and young people who have suffered hair loss due to cancer and other conditions.
This is something we had discussed for some time, Elise has had a handful of trims since birth, preferring the Rapunzel look. When the time came for a proper cut, she decided she’d like to donate her hair.
A few years ago, we met a girl on holiday who had suffered from leukaemia when she was younger. Sadly, soon after the holiday, the leukaemia returned and the young girl lost her hair due to treatment. It was then the idea about donating to the Little Princess Trust came about. And two years later, she decided that today was the day!
Massive thanks to Laura, owner of Coast Hair Design in Paignton for accomodating the last minute change of plan and preparing Elises hair ready to be sent off.
