A30 closed following serious collision

Delays on Telegraph Hill following collision

Emergency services were called to a collision on the A30 this morning, Monday 21st May.

The accident happened around 7am, on the A30 between the Daisymount junction and Exeter airport junction.
A van collided with a barrier on the side of the road, a number of people are believed to have been involved, police say 2 people were trapped.

Police, ambulance, fire crews and the air ambulance attended the scene.

Serious collision on the A30 Eastbound prior to the Daisymount junction with multiple casualties. @RoadPolAlliance @DSFireUpdates and @swasFT dealing and road is likely to be closed for some time. Please make alternative plans for travel.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said on their website: “Crews confirmed 5 casualties at the incident. Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment and small tools to release the casualties. Air ambulance also attended the scene.

“Crews standing by and duty of care will be left with the Police.”

Road closures are still in place and drivers are being asked to use alternative routes where possible.
