Police have appealed for witnesses following an incident in Plymouth last week.
Police are investigating reports of a serious assault in which a 19-year-old man was assaulted by a group of people and sustained serious and potentially lifechanging injuries.
The incident occurred in the woodland area between Lower Central Park and Discovery Way between 7.30pm and 10.30pm on Tuesday 28 November.
Five people have been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault causing grievous bodily harm. They are three men aged 19, 25 and 26 and two girls, aged 14 and 16. All have been released on police bail while enquires continue.
DC Rose said: “The victim of this incident has sustained very serious injuries.
“The involved parties and believed to be known to each other and this is being treated as an isolated incident.”
