Appeal for witnesses following fatal collision in Torquay

Police have appealed to the public for witnesses following a fatal collision in Torquay last night, Tuesday 16 April.

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a Citroen C1 car on Teignmouth Road at around 7.40pm.

Police, ambulance crews attended the scene, with the air ambulance landing nearby.

The bike rider, a man in his 40s from Lancashire, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The road was closed until the early hours of the morning, between Hele Road and Penny’s Hill, for police to carry out their investigations.

Police have asked for anyone with any relevant information or dash-cam footage which may assist the investigation to call 101 quoting log 704 16/4/24
