Appeal for witnesses following serious collision on A38

Police have appealed for witnesses following a fatal collision in Modbury yesterday, Tuesday 6 July.

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a van and pedestrian on Broad Street, outside of the Post Office at 11.44am.

The male pedestrian sustained a serious head injury and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

Police state: “It was quickly established that he had a head injury that was deemed unsurvivable.”

The man passed away at 2pm yesterday afternoon. His next-of-kin have been informed.

Any witnesses to the collision and especially any drivers with dash cam are asked to come forward to police quoting log 356 of the 6th July 2021.
