Police have appealed for witnesses following a serious in collision Totnes at the weekend.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision on Coronation Road, involving a white Ford Transit van and a pedestrian at 6.15pm on Saturday 11 November.
The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, sustained serious, potentially life-threatening, injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 67-year-old man from Totnes was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and being unfit to drive through drink. He has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
The road was closed for several hours whilst investigation work takes place.
