Police have appealed for witnesses following a serious collision in Paignton last night, Tuesday 21 May.
Emergency services were called to reports of a single vehicle collision, involving a black smart car, on the A3022, Dartmouth Road at around 9.40pm.
Police state that a local woman in her 30s was taken to Derriford Hospital with life-changing injuries. A man in his 30s from Bury, Lancashire, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink. He remains in police custody.
The road was closed for a number of hours whilst the incident was dealt with.
