Police appeal for witnesses following serious collision in Exeter

Road closed following serious collision on A38 near Plymouth

Police have appealed for witnesses following a serious collision in Exeter on Friday, 30th June.

Police were called just after 7pm to reports of a two vehicle collision on the Moor Lane junction with Osprey Road, Sowton, Exeter.

A black Alfa Romeo MiTO car and a Honda CB 600 motorbike were both travelling northbound from the direction of Exeter Moto Services towards the Honiton Road Park and Ride Roundabout when the collision occurred.

The rider of the motorbike, a 22-year-old man from Exeter, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

The female driver of the Alfa Romeo and front seat passenger were uninjured in the incident.

Officers from the Serious Collisions unit and Roads Policing Team attended the scene and the road was closed for four and a half hours.

At the time of the collision the weather was fine, road surface dry and visibility good.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to call 101 quoting log reference number 769 300617
