The Fire Service received a number of calls reporting a fire at a barn in stokeinteignhead late last night, 21st December.
Six fire engines from around the area attended the incident along with police units who closed nearby roads whilst the fire service tackled the blaze.
Crews fought the fire into the morning, also working to protect surrounding barns and fields.
It is believed that cows that had been in the barn, may have been let out prior to the fire being started.
There have been a number of barn fires recently, including at nearby Compton and Kingskerswell.
Police and Fire Service are treating the fire as Arson and an investigation has been launched.
