CentrePeace and Turning Heads joined together for an evening of Celebrating the people they support at the Royal Lyceum Theatre Torquay on Wednesday 20th March 2024.
Terri Emberson ( CentrePeace ) and Alan Tilley ( Turning Heads ) introduced what inspired them to start their organisations, the team that makes it happen, the importance of wellbeing support and how they are both making a difference in the community .
We were then treated to two big screen premieres – the emotional positive journey of “Turning Heads – Changing Lives” and the animation epic “The Invisible Storm” ( CentrePeace ).

The second part of the evening we went behind the scenes of films . From the animation techniques , set building and original music composing of the Invisible Storm. Scriptwriter
Alex shared his personal wellbeing journey as inspiration for the story of the film and John, one of the other producers of film, answered questions about the making of the film , seeing it on the Big screen and the choosing of the film’s title.
Alan Tilley and June Mills talked about the exciting future of Turning Heads , including the new skills centre opening in April in Torquay and latest news on the additional needs hotel project.
They highlighted members of the Turning Heads team including Charlie who was part of the Camera team on the Turning Heads film .
The evening concluded with two more films – one telling the story of CentrePeace and the other how Turning Heads is supporting food sustainability in Torbay.

The evening was presented by Film Director John Tomkins . After the great success of the evening, CentrePeace,Turning Heads and John hope to return in the autumn with Wellbeing Film Night 2.
