Torbay Airshow will go ahead on 1 -2 June, with a host of local and national businesses stepping up to support the hugely popular event.

This year, it has been necessary to find alternatives sources of funding for the event. The business community has since stepped up in support, recognising the airshow’s importance in positioning Torbay as a tourist destination and its impact on the local economy.

Newcross Healthcare has become the headline sponsor for the Torbay Airshow 2019. Newcross Healthcare is an independent organisation that provides highly trained staff and clinical services to those in need of care.

Torbay Airshow is already supported by English Riviera BID, an organisation set up in 2017 to provide a sustainable funding model for a destination marketing, as well as the Torbay Development Agency, an award winning provider of business and property services based in the heart of Torquay.

Additionally, Cavanna Homes, Speedwell Honda, BGS Landscapes & Fencing, KJ Lack Funeral Services, Interline, Bay’s Brewery and Domino’s Pizza have all signed up as official partners of the event.

Torbay’s Elected Mayor, Gordon Oliver, said: “As one of the initial supporters, I am really passionate about this spectacular event and it is wonderful that so many local businesses, as well as those from further afield, have shown their support for the airshow. The airshow brings great benefit to local businesses and we’re now in an excellent position to forge meaningful long-term partnerships with brands and organisations we feel tie in with our values.

Executive Lead for Tourism, Culture and Harbours and Chairman for the Airshow Working Party, Cllr Nicole Amil, said: “It is great to see so many businesses supporting this fantastic event. Residents and visitors have grown to love this annual event which brings a buzz across the whole of the Bay.”

Torbay Council’s Culture and Events Service Manager, Phil Black, Said: “The economic benefit of Torbay Airshow is tremendous for the region, bringing in a huge cash injection and feel good factor that benefits the entire area. It makes sense that the longer the airshow continues, the longer and greater the benefits will be for Torbay.”

Since the inaugural Torbay Airshow in 2016, the annual event has proved to be hugely popular with both locals and tourists. It is now firmly established as one of the key UK airshows, thanks to back-to-back appearances from the likes of the iconic Red Arrows, Typhoon Display Team and the Tigers Freefall Parachute Display Team.

The Torbay Airshow brings 165,000 people into the Bay each year, to enjoy a world class programme of aerial entertainment as well as enjoy a whole host of entertainment, fun and food at the event village on Paignton Green.

As one of the stand-out coastal airshows the country has to offer, Torbay is uniquely placed as the first event of the UK Airshow season, giving people the chance to see new routines from the likes of The Red Arrows, Typhoon, Team Raven, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

With the Torbay Airshow brand growing and gaining more and more public attention with each year, organisers are now looking to partner with business, brands and organisations from Torbay and further afield.

Air displays and further ground entertainment for Torbay Airshow will be confirmed over the coming months, to keep up to date with news and information see the official Torbay Airshow website: www.torbayairshow.com or follow the event on Twitter, Instagam and Facebook @TorbayAirshow
