Car destroyed and beach huts damaged in Paignton crash

Emergency services were called to Paignton today after a car crashed into a beach hut on Marine Parade and caught fire.

The incident, which happened at around 11.30 am saw a car destroyed and beach huts were damaged in the blaze.

Paramedics treated one of the occupants of the car, a 76 year old at the scene for minor injuries. The other occupant, a 73 year old is not thought to have been injured.

A fire service spokesperson said:
“On arrival crews confirmed the car and beach hut were well alight, and got to work with two breathing apparatus sets and one hose reel jet,”
