Care homes invited to ‘drop in’ to talk to one of the region’s largest employers

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust’s vocational and apprenticeship team, and members of Health and Care Training will be on hand during 12 June for an informal ‘drop in’ session. The session has been set up to help answer questions or concerns care home owners or managers may have in relation to the Care Certificate, apprenticeships or training in general.

The Trust employs approximately 6,000 staff including frontline health and social care staff, such as nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, consultants, and physiotherapists; in order to provide safe, high-quality care and social care for the people of Torbay and South Devon.

The Trust has been awarded a Gold Standard by the Fair Train Quality Mark.  The national accreditation provides a framework for organisations to work towards, acting as quality assurance mark for high quality work experience and employability programmes.

To help others benefit from the expertise that the Trust has built up over the years, Health and Care Training was created to engage with providers and support them to improve the quality of care they offer.

Health and Care Training also offer membership to their ‘Knowledge Hub’, a central place for care providers to easily access Care Certificate training resources, learning support videos and expert advice, so that quality of care can be standardised and improved, reducing demands placed on the acute hospital system.

If you are a care provider and have any questions or concerns, or would like to find out more about the Knowledge Hub; come along for an informal chat between 11am and 3pm on 12 June, at the Horizon Centre (at Torbay Hospital).
