Torbay Coastguard and RNLI were called out to a boat with engine failure and taking on water at Meadfoot last night.
Torbay Lifeboat said on their website:
“A small fishing vessel with one person on board and a fouled propeller drifted onto the rocky shoreline at Meadfoot Beach Torquay. The initial location reported was unclear and thought to be towards Teignmouth. Exmouth ALB was on exercise at the time and proceeded. Subsequently the location was clarified and the Torbay ALB was tasked. Exmouth returned to exercise. The ‘Y’ boat was used to establish and tow the vessel out to sea it being close to low water. The vessel, which was taking water, was towed to Torquay Harbour and placed on the slipway prior to lift out,”
