Coastguards rescue dog after cliff fall

Torbay Coastguard joined Berry head Coastguard and Torbay inshore lifeboat to rescue a dog trapped on a cliff between Churston Point and Elberry Cove this evening just before 5.30pm.

The dog was rescued in a joint effort and the dog was reunited with it’s owner.

A spokesperson for Torbay Coastguard said:
“Full team page to back up Berry Head Coastguard with a Dog over the cliff between Churston Point and Elberry Cove.

“Once we located the owner and dog we put in a two stake hold fast then Torbay Coastguard cliff man was lowered to the dogs position, safely secured the dog and then lowered him into Torbay ILB. The dog and owner were reunited,”
