During the Coronavirus outbreak, local bus service providers are making a number of changes to their services and timetables to respond to the latest government advice and help reduce the spread of the virus. People are advised only to travel if absolutely necessary – for basic food shopping, medicines, or to essential work.
With immediate effect, a number of operators have implemented the following changes to their services.
From Sunday 29 March Stagecoach will be running an emergency timetable across routes 12, 17, 18/18A, 22, 23, 31, 35, 77 and Fox. Passengers are being advised to check www.stagecoachbus.com before they travel for the latest service information.
Torbay Community Bus will be suspending their 61 services from Wednesday 25 March, with services T3 and T6 already cancelled. Any Torbay Community Buses moving around from tomorrow will be delivering food supplies to local communities.
Dartmouth Steam Railway & Riverboat Company has temporarily closed its business, which includes stopping their Service 100.
Councillor Mike Morey, Cabinet Member of Environment, Infrastructure and Culture for Torbay Council, said “Following government advice, we urge Torbay residents to limit all non-essential travel to help reduce the spread of this virus. We are grateful to our local bus service providers for continuing to run services where possible, to ensure key workers and those who really need to are able to continue to get to work or access essential services safely during this extremely difficult and challenging time.”
Torbay Buses and Country Bus are currently operating all local bus services as normal.
All local bus service operators will continue to review services in line with government guidance. All services currently running may be subject to last-minute changes.
