A Justgiving page has been set up to raise £12,000 to create a play area in Totnes in memory of a 3 year old boy who tragically died in a collision last year.
Over £2000 has already been raised since fundraising began earlier this month.
Reuben Williams tragically died just before Christmas on 20th December 2017 in a collision on Plymouth Road near Totnes.
Posting on the Justgiving site, Sima Cutting who set up the online fundraiser said:
“We would love to have Earthwrights build a beautiful climbing structure on Vire Island in Totnes for kids to enjoy, come rain or shine… Reuben was tragically killed on the 20th December 2017, aged just 3. Frankie and Tom loved his adventurous spirit and want his memory honoured with joy and playfulness. Please help us to raise the £13.5k needed to design and build the playspace. Thank you in advance,”
In tribute to Reuben, his parents said in January: “We loved Reuben for being gentle, kind and cuddly. We loved Reuben for being excited, energetic and wild.
“He had an unquenchable thirst for discovery and knowledge, and loved nothing more than being held. He felt safe in our arms.
“He was our morning wake up call. He was our insect adventure. He was our snuggle-down movie time. He was our giggly tickle-lover. He was our bedtime milk and story.
“We have lost a piece that cannot be replaced.”
