On Friday 23 September 2022, Retain Limited group of companies held a grand opening day for their office based at 44/46B Estover Close, Forresters Business Park, Estover, Plymouth, PL6 7PL.
The three-in-one contractor has experts in industrial and commercial roofing, scaffolding installation, safety netting and access solutions, and roof-mounted solar PV design and fixtures. The group of companies found a unique space in the market to offer clients a structured approach by eliminating the need for multiple contractors and streamlining the process by being a one-point, trusted contact for clients. This approach both builds a strong client-contractor relationship and clear communication between project site workers.
The event was well attended, with an office full of guests witnessing the cutting of the red ribbon and presentation of the Retain Limited plaque. After the official, grand opening, everyone tucked into a delicious complimentary buffet and Prosecco. Retain Limited also provided free tote bags full of Retain Limited goodies, including a Retain Limited business card and booklet, tape measure, mug, coaster, pen, wireless charger and stress ball.
To top it all off, Retain Limited had an extra special giveaway of a signed Plymouth Argyle football up for grabs! All guests had to do was bring in a business card. At the end of the day, the winning business card was drawn, which was Clare Baker from Devon and Plymouth Chamber of Commerce.
Founder and Director, Jamie Gibbs, responded to the event, stating: “It was brilliant to see so many guests attend our recent opening day. I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to join us during our grand opening and a massive thank you to Johnny Mercer for attending and cutting the ribbon to our new office. We look forward to welcoming many more clients both locally and across the UK to our Retain Roofing, Retain Access and Retain Energy trio of services.”
With many of their own employees previously serving in the Royal Marines, including Founder and Director, Jamie Gibbs, they were delighted and honoured to be joined by Johnny Mercer, Conservative MP for Plymouth, Moor View, former British Army Officer and previous Minister for Veterans’ Affairs.
Johnny Mercer stated: “It is great to see the support from Retain Limited to the armed forces community. It was wonderful to see such high attendance at the Retain Limited office opening and I was honoured to cut the ribbon on the day. With many of their employees being ex-military personnel, I look forward to seeing Retain Limited’s support to the armed forces community continue, especially with their future goals to achieve the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award.”
Retain Limited is proud to work closely with the Royal Marines Charity (RMA): a fantastic charitable organisation that aims to provide a lifetime of support to the Royal Marines Family. The group of companies endeavours to provide employment opportunities and help other Royal Marines adjust to life as UK civilians. They strive to help educate, train and create bespoke career pathways, tailored to individual skill sets, to enable and encourage a successful and fulfilling life post-service.
Retain Limited donates to the RMA and provides a direct donation link to the RMA on its website and in publications, so others can choose to donate with ease. Further, Retain Limited offers support to serving and veterans, helping those in need of employment should they need it. On one such occasion, the RMA got in touch with Retain Limited, making them aware of an individual who had to leave the military due to injury. To help get him back into work and secure an income at a time of uncertainty, Retain Limited offered him a job on the same day and he was working the following day.
They have also recently been awarded the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award and are currently working towards the ERS Gold Award. Achieving this award reflects the company’s continuous commitment to supporting the armed forces community in a manner that aligns with the values of the Armed Forces Covenant. The ERS has a three-tier approach of bronze, silver and gold awards, recognising the different levels of commitment provided by employers. The ERS was launched in 2014 to encourage and support the relationship between Reservists’ employers and Defence.
In addition to this, Retain Limited group of companies holds multiple awards and certifications, including, but not limited to their CITB accreditation, the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) Gold Award for Health and Safety six years in a row and they are approved Gold members of Constructionline.
Key objectives for the group of companies is to achieve client satisfaction, invest in staff, and maintain and build upon their reliable reputation within the industrial and commercial sector. By providing staff with excellent training opportunities, staff can also achieve career progression and ensure that the quality of work surpasses expectations.
