Police have appealed to the public for witnesses following a serious collision in Plymouth in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday 28 January.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a cyclist and a red Vauxhall Corsa on the inside lane of the outbound carriageway of Embankment Road in Plymouth, at around 3.40am.
The cyclist, a man in his 40s from Plymouth, sustained serious injuries and has been taken to Derriford Hospital. Police state that his injuries are not thought to be life threatening at this time.
The driver of the Vauxhall Corsa failed to stop at the scene of the collision.
The road was closed whilst investigations took place.
A man in his 30s from Plymouth has been arrested on suspicion causing serious injury by careless driving, driving a vehicle when alcohol level above the limit and of failing to stop after a road accident. He remains in police custody at this time.
Police have asked for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them by calling 101 quoting log number 77 of 28/1/25.
