Cash Access UK, the organisation set up to protect nationwide access to cash, has confirmed today that the new Banking Hub in Dartmouth is opening at 5-9 Victoria Street. The hub will officially be opened between 11am and 12pm on 6th September by The Mayor, Cllr David Wells.
The Hub will offer a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. It also offers a Community Banker service where customers can talk to their own bank about more complicated issues on the day their bank is in the Hub. In Dartmouth, the Community Bankers are available on the following days:
Monday: HSBC
Tuesday: NatWest
Wednesday: Lloyds
Thursday: Barclays
Friday: Santander
Finding the right location for a Banking Hub that is convenient, accessible and works for everyone often takes time, so Cash Access UK is delighted to have been able to secure convenient premises in the heart of the community.
Our team has been working hard to fit out the premises over the past few months in preparation for the opening. The Hub was recommended by LINK, the UK’s cash access and ATM network, following a community request from Anthony Mangnall, who was previously the local MP.
There are several Banking Hubs up and running across Devon including Axminster, Brixham, Sidmouth, Dawlish and Teignmouth.
Gareth Oakley, CEO at Cash Access UK: “I’m delighted to announce the opening of the home for the Dartmouth Banking Hub which will guarantee the local community access to cash and face-to-face banking services once again. We’ve already got several open across Devon, so we’re pleased to confirm the latest today.”
Cllr Mike Rowley: “This Banking Hub will be a great boost, both to businesses and individuals in Dartmouth and has been eagerly anticipated. I would like to pay tribute to Anthony Mangall who spearheaded Dartmouth’s request for a banking hub as well as facilitating the early negotiations. He has achieved a great service to our town.
“I would also thank Cash Access UK for appreciating Dartmouth’s need and giving us this Hub. Now we have to make sure we justify that confidence by using it.”
