Raising awareness for endangered species in the UK, original wooden duck specialists DCUK have boosted the Durrell Conservation Trust with a unique fundraiser competition.
With £1,322 made from generous donations, DCUK launched limited edition dodo versions of their globally famous products, after new data revealed that just 50% of the UK’s biodiversity remains.
So far, 214 donations have been made and the three lucky winners have been selected at random to receive a dodo each on DCUK’s social media page.
The hand-carved dodos were crafted as a symbol for animal extinction, and that action needs to be taken sooner to help protect wildlife. Linking with the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust was a natural step, as they contribute to saving species from extinction, specifically focussing on any animals that are currently under threat.
On the fundraiser Craig Wensley, DCUK Owner commented: “We’re overwhelmed with the generous contributions, and hope it makes a real difference to Durrell’s work. It’s been a pleasure working with them throughout, and we hope the three lucky winners enjoy their very limited-edition dodos!”
