A teenager from Plymouth was charged on Monday with offences related to cyber attacks on websites around the world.
The 15-year-old, from the Plympton area of the city, was charged after an investigation by officers from the Zephyr Regional Cyber Crime Unit.
The boy was charged with three offences under Section 3 of the Computer Misuse Act which relate to denial of service attacks on websites at locations in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia. He was also charged with two offences under Section 51 of the Criminal Law Act. This relates to bomb hoaxes placed with airlines in North America via social media.
He has been bailed to appear before Plymouth Youth Court on Friday, 18th December.
