A crowdfunding page set up to help the family of a young boy who tragically died in a collision in Totnes has almost reached its target of £12000.
The three year old, named on the justgiving page as Reuben, sadly died just before Christmas on 20th December.
The fund currently stands at £11,938.
Sima Cutting, who set up the page, said: “It’s with the heaviest heart & deepest sorrow that I write this. Those of you who know The Kitchen Table well will know Frankie. She’s been my right hand, friend & huge supporter of the business since I went solo two years ago. She’s an amazing chef & the hardest worker I’ve ever known. She was in an awful car crash on Wednesday 20th December & horrendously her son was killed in it. She’s with her in in-laws recovering from her injuries & will injuries. I would like to set up a fund in honour of little beautiful Reuben & to help the family in this time of need,”
Posting on The Kitchen Table’s Facebook page, Sima explained she didn’t want the family to worry about money: “These last few days have been very difficult. This is something I can practically do. The Totnes community have already shown such love & support for Frankie & her family. Thank you for all the texts & emails, hugs & phone calls. It’s so heartbreaking – Reuben was a glorious little dude. During this awful time of grief, I want the family not to have to worry about something as mundane as money. Frankie won’t be able to work for several months & I will miss her humour, creativity, energy & support. She is an amazing employee & lovely friend. I hope you can help me take this burden away so they can focus on healing,”
