Emergency services called to boy impaled on railings

Emergency services were called to a boy impaled on railings in Paignton last night, 25th June.

The ambulance service requested the attendance of fire crews at around 10.30pm to the incident in Colin Road, Preston, involving a 12 year old boy who had fallen onto railings impaling his arm.

Devon and Somerset fire and rescue service said on their website:
“A fire crew from Paignton was mobilised to assist and help release boy from railings. Upon arrival the crew set to work using small tools to release the boys impaled arm from the railings.

“Having managed to successfully release the boys arm from the railings duty of care was handed over to the on scene ambulance crew. The boy was then conveyed to hospital,”
