Emergency services were called to a collision in Chelston, Torquay in the early hours of this morning, 20th May.
One fire appliance from Torquay was mobilised to the incident in Old Mill Road following calls from members of the public reporting a car on its side and on fire at approximately 1.30am.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said there was no one in or with the vehicle at the time of the calls.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said on their website:
“Our crew brought the incident under control at 02:09, using 2BA, 1 hose reel jet and small tools to extinguish the fire and make the vehicle safe. The car was completely destroyed by fire, with an adjacent telegraph pole sustaining 30% fire damage. The cause of the fire was confirmed to be accidental, as a result of the RTC,”
