Final preparations are in full swing to ensure the event is enjoyable and memorable for all.
Due to railway strike action on Saturday 3 June, roads are expected to be extremely busy. Residents and visitors are urged to plan ahead and where possible encouraged to car share, walk, cycle, or use the bus network.
Anyone travelling by car to the event should be aware that road closures and safety and traffic management measures will be put in place from 10am until 7pm on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 June. These measures limit vehicular access around Paignton seafront, Preston seafront and the surrounding residential areas. Affected roads along with diversion routes will be clearly advertised.
For those arriving by bus, there will be an additional capacity on bus services in and out of Paignton across the event weekend. Stagecoach has advised there will be a frequency increase on the 122 and an amended timetable on the 22. The maximum single fare price is £2. Throughout the day, catch Team Raven, Jet Pitts S25 and BAC Strikemaster wowing the crowds with jaw-dropping stunts. As the day progresses, see the Black Cats, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and many more before the iconic Red Arrows swoop in to close out the show in unforgettable fashion.
Day 2 of the English Riviera Airshow delivers more unforgettable performances from the Tigers and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The skies will then be filled with a thrilling flight schedule showcasing the incredible Westland Wasp, Fairey Swordfish, Seafire and heart-stopping displays from the Bronco Demo Team and Yakovlev Yak 50. The Red Arrows return to astound audiences with their awe-inspiring formations and signature red, white, and blue smoke trails to perform a heart-pumping finale to this year’s airshow.
On the ground the extravaganza continues with an array of entertainment to keep airshow fans and families entertained in between aerial displays, including model displays from Torbay Model Aircraft display, live performances from local acts such as ROC Samba Band, Devon Rock Choir and Sound Communities as well as breath-taking Extreme BMX and motorbike stunt displays. The event village on Paignton Green will be open from 11.00am on both days and will be packed with rides, carnival stalls, local and national traders, a wide variety of food and drink stalls, plus located in our Armed Forces Village see stands from visiting RAF, Navy, and Army crews.
The English Riviera Airshow is requesting that no kites or balloons be flown in Torbay over the airshow weekend. Additionally, the Civil Aviation Authority has declared it illegal to fly a drone within four nautical miles of the airshow site. These measures are for the safety of the aircraft performing during the airshow. Any flying of drones will mean that the airshow is suspended until the item has been landed and subsequently confiscated by the appropriate authorities and may result in prosecution.
Dogs are welcome but please always keep them on leads on the event site.
Additional toilets will be available in the Event Village, along with reusable water bottle filling stations, a first aid tent, accessible viewing areas, accessible toilets, and an information point.
