Nominations are still open to recognise the hard work and dedication of health and social care staff across Torbay and Southern Devon. However, the deadline for nominations to be received (Tuesday 7 April) is fast approaching.
The Blue Shield Awards, organised by both Torbay and Southern Devon Health and Care NHS Trust and South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (which runs Torbay Hospital), are held annually to celebrate the people who go above and beyond in their role and help to make a real difference to health and social care.
There are a total of nine categories within the awards including individual, team, partnership, innovation, volunteer, and lifetime achievement.
Martin Ringrose, Interim Director of Human Resources for South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Torbay and Southern Devon Health and Care NHS Trust said: “All of our staff work extremely hard to ensure that everyone who comes into our care receives the highest quality of service, with many going above and beyond the call of duty in their role each and every day.
“The Blue Shield Awards are about recognising the people who make a real difference to health and social care, as well as a way to share and celebrate some
of the many success stories. The awards allow us to step back for a moment and truly celebrate the great work that takes place in healthcare across Torbay and Southern Devon.
“If you know of a member of staff, team or one of our volunteers who is worthy of an award, I would encourage you to find out more and nominate!”
Nomination forms can be downloaded via www.sdhis.nhs.uk/blueshieldawards or you can pick up a form at Torbay Hospital or your local community hospital. Alternatively, you can email ameliahall@nhs.net or contact 01803 210506 to be sent a nomination form.
The deadline for nominations to be received is Tuesday 7 April 2015. The winners of the Blue Shield Awards 2015 will be announced at an award ceremony in June.
