Fire crews from across the area are at the scene of a major blaze in Torquay this evening, Wednesday 31 January.
Babbacombe Road is currently closed both ways whilst the incident on Barrington Road is dealt with.
Emergency services were called to reports of a fire at the disused Coppice hotel at around 9pm.
Locals have been advised to keep their windows closed.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service posted on X
“We have 6 pumps and 2 aerial platforms along with supporting units at a large derelict hotel fire in Babbacombe, Torquay. Please avoid the area. Road closures are in place. Residents are advised to keep doors and windows close.”
