Fire crews were called to a house in Morin Road in Preston last night to reports of a collapsed roof.
Appliances from Torquay, Paignton, Camels Head and Middlemoor were mobilised to this incident at around 8.40pm along with specialist officers.
A hydraulic platform was used to assess the damage of the semi detached property.
One resident told us “It was quite a crash, we wondered what was going on!”
Gas, water and electricity have been isolated at the property.
The property has been cordoned off and police guarded the property over night.
Building control is due to inspect the property this morning.
