The fire service was called to reports of a fire at a flat in Paignton this afternoon, 14th August.
One fire engine was initially sent to the incident at Coverdale court, Bishops Place, Paignton at 4.25pm.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said on their website:
“On arrival, neighbours reported smoke coming from the flat and there was doubt over whether anyone was still inside. Three further appliances (one from Paignton and two from Torquay) along with supervisory officers were mobilised.
“A search of the property was made by teams wearing breathing apparatus, but there was no one found to be in the premises,”
The fire involved a frying pan. Crews extinguished the fire using 1 hosereel jet, 1 safety jet, 2 breathing apparatus sets and positive pressure ventilation fan were used.
